Police are investigating after human remains were discovered by construction workers at an abandoned building in Harlem Friday morning.
The NYPD says a leg bone and femur were found on fourth floor of the building at 54 West 125th St. Workers were there removing asbestos at the time.
The medical examiner has been called to the scene.
Police believe the building has been abandoned since 1980. A man who works in the area said a store used to be on the ground floor of the building about six or seven years ago -- but nobody has lived elsewhere in the building for a long time.
