A Brooklyn funeral director who hoped to barter his services is now fighting to keep his business alive.
Peter Dohanich said a flurry of media attention led his funeral home's landlord to ask him to move out.
The 51-year-old Dohanich had put an ad on Craigslist seeking a reliable contractor to put an addition on his apartment in exchange for a full service funeral.
But he says the media attention got out of control, so he says he's taken the ad down. He says he's now looking for a new place to rent for his business.
Blair-Mazzarella Funeral Home owner James Donofrio said Dohanich is no longer welcome to rent space because he now considers him competition.
Dohanich said he got one query from a contractor looking to barter.
