Firefighters Help Rescue Several People at NJ Apartment Complex

Firefighters helped rescue several people when a fire broke out at a New Jersey apartment complex.

Summit officials say the blaze was reported around 5:10 a.m. Sunday and was brought under control about two hours later. But it's not yet known what sparked the fire at the Summit Avenue site.

Authorities say several people were evacuated from the complex's three buildings, including some who had to escape through their unit windows. One building was destroyed in the fire, while the other two were damaged.

Two people were being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Their names have not been released

The American Red Cross was providing aid to the displaced residents.
