A young boy with autism has been reunited with his service dog, three days after the canine jumped out of his bedroom window during a rain storm on Long Island and disappeared, the boy’s mother told NBC 4 New York.

The German Shepherd, named Lulu, jumped from the window of their Nesconset home around 6:15 p.m. Friday because she thought Christopher was gone, mother Kimberly Varvaro said.

The family had just moved to a new home so the family feared she wouldn't be able to find her way back home.

But on Monday, a woman in the neighborhood spotted Lulu and got in touch with the family. Christopher's sister scooped her up and brought her home. Her condition appeared to be OK.
