Man Accused of Running Over Wife With Tractor-Trailer 16 Years Ago

An upstate New York man has been charged in the cold case death of his wife 16 years ago.

Casey Callahan, 50, is accused of running over Elizabeth Callahan with a tractor trailer in 2000, according to the Oneonta Daily Star.

He pleaded not guilty to a murder charge Monday in Otsego County Court and is expected to be assigned a public defender. Callahan was brought to court from Attica Correctional Facility, where he's serving time for a 2013 sex crime conviction.

Elizabeth Callahan was 34 when she died in what was originally investigated as an accident in a Pennsylvania parking lot. But some of her relatives convinced authorities to look into the possibility she'd been killed. No charges were brought until the case was reopened in March.
