UPDATE: The man's lawyer now claims he thought he hit a pothole.
A 68-year-old man has been arrested in the death of a woman who was fatally struck by a yellow cab while lying on a street in Manhattan, police said Sunday.
The man was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, police said.
The woman, identified as Kenya Flores, a Bronx resident, was on the ground in the bus lane on First Avenue near East 16th Street at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday when she was struck, police said. A cane was found near her body, and it wasn't immediately clear whether she had fallen.
