Arrest in Attempted Rape in Columbus Circle Restroom: Police

Police arrested a 24-year-old man Saturday who is accused of crawling into a stall in a restroom at Columbus Circle and trying to rape a woman.

Ibrahima Barry, of the Bronx, was charged with attempted rape, the NYPD said.

He allegedly entered the Time Warner Center and took an escalator to a second-floor women's restroom on Friday morning, police said.

Once in the restroom, he crawled into a stall with an 18-year-old woman in it and tried to rape her, according to police.

The man began to pull down his pants and the woman screamed, police said. He ran off.

It wasn't known whether Barry had an attorney.
