A man has been killed after being hit by a car on the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens.
Police said the man was hit by a red Subaru Forester near Jewel Avenue just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
After responding to reports of the incident, emergency services found the man unconscious on the road, where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation suggested the man jumped over the median of the expressway and was hit in the northbound lane, police said.
The driver of the Subaru stayed at the scene and there have been no arrests.
