Woman Killed by Taxi on UES

A 65-year-old woman died Monday after she was struck by a taxi on the Upper East Side, police said.

Pelagia Zingatan, of Queens, was crossing First Avenue around 1 p.m. when she was hit by the yellow taxi, which was traveling west on 69th Street and First Avenue, police said.

She was taken to New York Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the incident.
