Police on Long Island are looking for a driver captured on security video speeding down a street, crashing up onto a sidewalk and into a building before fleeing the scene.
Video from the incident at about 2 a.m. on Dec. 13 in Mineola shows the silver-colored car zooming into view on Herricks Road, spinning up onto the sidewalk, then hitting the building. The car then backs up and speeds away.
The owner of the building noticed heavy damage to the building and the skid marks on the sidewalk the next day, and turned the security video over to police.
The driver is wanted for criminal mischief. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
