Teen Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Manhattan Public Housing Complex: NYPD

Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old at a public housing complex last month in Manhattan.

Demetrius Washington, 19, was charged in the death of Jordan Barber, who was shot in the neck at the Polo Grounds Houses in Washington Heights just before 11 p.m. on June 29, the NYPD said.

Washington was taken to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second 19-year-old victim was shot in the thigh and was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

Washington was charged with second-degree murder, two counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
