4 Cars Stolen from Outside Staten Island Gyms in Less Than a Month

Police have identified the suspect as Marc Steinberg (below)

Police are investigating after at least four vehicles were reported stolen from the parking lots of three Staten Island gyms within a month.

Police believe the suspect swiped car keys from wall racks or bowls inside the gyms to gain access to the cars, according to the Staten Island Advance.

All of the cars were swiped between Sept. 28 and Oct. 17. In the first case, a 2007 Toyota RAV-4 was taken from the lot of a Retro Fitness on Richmond Avenue in the early evening. About a week later, a Honda Odyssey was taken from another Retro Fitness lot.

On Oct. 15, the suspect stole a 2012 Toyota Camry from the same lot where the Honda was taken. Two days later, the same suspect is believed to have taken a 2007 Audi A4 from the lot of a Synergy Fitness on Richmond Hill Road in New Springville.

Police have identified the suspect as Marc Steinberg. The owners of one of the gyms believe they have him on surveillance video, reports the Advance, and police released a photo of him (above).

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800)-577-TIPS.
