S Train Groper Sought by Police

The victim was able to take a cell phone photo of the man

Police are searching for a man they say groped a woman after following her out of the subway in Brooklyn Wednesday.

The 24-year-old woman told police she'd boarded the S train at Franklin Avenue when a man approached and sat directly across from her. He began making obscene gestures toward the woman, police said.

The woman got up from her seat and left the train at the Botanic Garden stop, where the suspect followed her and forcibly grabbed her buttocks as she climbed the stairs to exit the station, police said.

The woman turned around and slapped the suspect in the face, prompting him to run away.

Police have released a cell phone photo of the suspect, which the victim took while on the train. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or at nypdcrimestoppers.com.
