A man grabbed and fired a DEA agent’s gun in the parking lot of a Queens hotel Tuesday afternoon, law enforcement sources tell NBC 4 New York.
The agent was looking for a man and a woman at the hotel at 135th Avenue and 145th Street, near John F. Kennedy Airport, and had just detained a woman when the man grabbed at the agent’s gun, the sources said.
One shot went off during a struggle for the weapon, the sources said. No one was hurt, but the man took off afterward.
Sources said the man was taken into custody later Tuesday.
The agent never lost possession of the weapon.
