Burglars Caught on Deli Roof, Found With $12K in Cash, 3K Lottery Tickets

Police captured four burglars on the roof of a Queens deli as they tried to escape with $12,000 in cash, more than 3,500 lottery scratch-off tickets, 162 packs of cigarettes and 49 boxes of cigars, the NYPD says.

Officers responded to JK Deli at 71st Avenue and Kissena Boulevard in Kew Gardens Hills just before 3 a.m. Friday, and found the ATM and the ceiling of the deli damaged.

Four men were found on the roof of the deli, and after they tried to run away in separate directions, were all caught by police, authorities said. No one was hurt.

All four suspects were arrested, and a 15-year-old found waiting in a nearby getaway car was also placed under arrest.

The suspects, ages 15, 19, 21, 25 and 27, were charged with burglary.
