The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will replace an airport security firm that was at the center of an identity fraud case.
The agency announced Wednesday it will terminate FJC Security Services' contract on Sept. 1. The agency will pay Allied Barton $221 million over four years to deploy 600 guards at Newark Liberty, LaGuardia and JFK airports.
Authorities discovered last year that an FJC supervisor at Newark had entered the country illegally years earlier and used the identity of a man who had been murdered in New York City.
The supervisor pleaded guilty last year.
Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye said FJC will continue to provide security at other locations such as bridges and tunnels, but added that the agency would seek new contractors.
