NJ Man Charged in Ex-Girlfriend Killing After Calling 911: Police

Police arrested a New Jersey man in the slaying of his ex-girlfriend after he allegedly called authorities to say he "had a problem" with her, officials say.

Perfis E. Pena-Nunez faces homicide and weapons charges in the death of 26-year-old Jackie Delarosa, who was found in the garage of her home in Paterson with an apparent gunshot wound to her head late Tuesday, police say.

Police say they went to the home on Belmont Avenue after getting a call from Pena-Nunez, who allegedly told dispatchers that he had a problem with his girlfriend. When they arrived, they found Delarosa’s body and Pena-Nunez. The man was detained at the scene.

Authorities later determined that the two had once dated and lived together but had broken up sometime before her killing.

It’s not clear if Pena-Nunez, 32, has an attorney.
