Between 40 and 60 students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a pair of school buses crashed on a Hudson Valley parkway, authorities said.

One bus rear-ended another in the southbound lanes of Palisades Interstate Parkway near New City at about 2 p.m., authorities said.

Authorities said that the buses were heading from Woodmont Day Camp to Northern Valley Regional High in Demarest, New Jersey.

Chopper 4 footage from the scene shows several emergency vehicles crowding around the crash site. Paramedics are treating people at the scene.

No lanes of the highway appear to be blocked by the crash, but the buses are sitting idle in the road's on-ramp.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
