Long Island Man Bit Out Dog's Eye: SPCA

A Long Island man was arrested after Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals officials said he bit the eye out of a 3-year-old Shih Tzu.

Aaron Kluger, 20, was arrested on animal torture charges after an animal hospital took in the small pup, named Chloe, with serious injuries on Nov. 6, according to the Nassau County SPCA.

The SPCA said veterinarians realized the pup's right eye had been bitten out and called authorities.

A surgery was also performed to reattach the dog's eye. The SPCA said that with proper care and treatment, veterinarians are hopeful her eye will be saved.

An attorney for Kluger, of Port Washington, is due to appear in court for the misdemeanor charge on Dec. 27. It was not clear if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
