Officials say a 21-year-old New Jersey man succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital after he was shot in Trenton's Wilbur section.
NJ.com reports officers responding to reports of gunfire found Davae Dickson, of Trenton, shot in his side around 11 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Morton Alley and Monmouth Street.
The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says Dickson died about an hour later while undergoing emergency surgery at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
Prosecutors say multiple gunshots were fired in the area. Trenton's ShotSpotter gunfire detection system also recorded the shooting.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is investigating. No arrests have been made at this time.
