Man Punches, Robs Woman in Broad Daylight in Central Park: NYPD

The NYPD is looking for a man who punched and robbed a woman walking in Central Park in broad daylight Wednesday morning.

The 26-year-old woman was walking on a path from the Great Hill at 11 a.m. when the suspect came up to her and punched her repeatedly in the face, police said. He then took her purse and stole a wallet out of it, before giving the purse back to her and running away.

The woman suffered injuries to her face but refused medical attention, according to police.

The Great Hill is located in the upper western portion of the park, near West 105th Street.

Police said the man was in his mid 30s to early 40s. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-577-TIPS.
