NJ Building Collapses in Blaze

An early morning blaze decimated a building in New Jersey that collapsed because of the fire, officials said.

The three-story wood frame building in Paterson was reduced to charred and smoky rubble by the fire, which started at around 1:45 a.m.

The American Red Cross provided assistance to at least 10 families impacted by the blaze on Main Street, the organization said.

In an unrelated incident, an ambulance parked at the scene was struck by a vehicle, and two emergency medical technicians were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

No injuries were reported in the fire.
