Mother Arrested After Threatening to ‘Blow Up and Shoot Up' Connecticut Day Care: State Police

State police have arrested a mother for allegedly threatening to blow up and shoot up a Connecticut day care facility last week.

Kristy Ellison, 36, of Amston, allegedly grew upset over an administrative issue at Discovery Zone Learning Center in Tolland County's Hebron and told several employees she was going to "blow up and shoot up the daycare facility," authorities said.

Troopers went to the school on Pendleton Drive Friday morning to investigate the report.

State police said they confirmed Ellison made the threat.

Ellison turned herself in to state police at Troop K barracks and troopers took her into custody.

State police charged her with second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening.

Ellison is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Dec. 22. It wasn't immediately clear if she had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
