Man Wanted in Connection to Subway Needle Attack

The NYPD are looking for this man who they believe assaulted a woman while she waited for the subway in midtown Wednesday, allegedly plunging a needle into her arm.

The 37-year-old victim was waiting for an uptown R train at 7th Avenue and 49th Street on Wednesday at about 8:50 p.m. when the suspect bumped into her and possibly poked her with a needle, police said.

The woman felt pain in her right arm and went to Astoria General Hospital where she was treated and released, authorities said.

The man is still at large, police said.

The attack came as slashings, stabbings and assaults on the transit system spiked in the first month of 2016, the NYPD said. There were a total of ten slashings or stabbings in the subway system in January, one of which was a completely random attack, according to the NYPD.
