A 37-year-old man walking on the street not far from his Brooklyn apartment Monday was jumped by three suspects who punched and kicked him, causing severe lacerations to his head, and stole his iPhone 6, according to police and relatives.
Gary Weingarten was attacked on the corner of Fulton Street and Schenectady, across the street from a high school, around 10:30 p.m., authorities said.
His cousin told NBC 4 New York he suffered severe cuts to his head and face and needed stitches. He was also getting CT scans.
The cousin described Weingarten as a good, generous man who always helps everyone in need.
No arrests have been made.
