From Status Update to Indictment: Man Charged in Baby Dropping After Facebook Post

A New Jersey man who authorities say failed to mention dropping his infant son but later posted about it on Facebook has been indicted on aggravated assault and child endangerment charges.

The indictment against Brendon Miller, 25, of Jefferson, was handed up Thursday by a Morris County grand jury. He faces up to 20 years in prison if he's convicted on both counts.

The child was nearly 5 months old when he was injured Feb. 16, authorities said. He was treated at a hospital for bleeding on the brain and later released.

Miller didn't report dropping the baby when he was interviewed by police, but posted about dropping the child on Facebook almost two weeks later, authorities said.

It wasn't known Sunday if Miller had retained an attorney.
