A Queens man has admitted to hate crimes in a series of 2012 New Year's Day fire bombings.
Suraj Poonai Ray Lazier Lengend pleaded guilty to attempted arson as a hate crime on Thursday.
Prosecutors say that during a single night the 45-year-old defendant threw gasoline-filled Molotov cocktails at a mosque, a Hindu house of worship, private homes and a deli. No injuries were reported in the two-hour rampage.
Prosecutors say Lengend admitted to authorities that he disliked Muslims, Arabs and Hindus and that he wanted to inflict as much damage as possible.
The judge plans to sentence him to 20 years in prison.
