A man deposited thousands of dollars in counterfeit business checks, police say.

Officials said the man deposited the counterfeit checks at a Bank of America on West 145th Street in Manhattan back in March. The checks belonged to a construction company owned by a 45-year-old man, cops said.

The checks totaled nearly $3,000, authorities said.

Investigators released surveillance footage of the man (above) seen wearing a Nike jacket and a red hat. They urge witnesses with information on the man to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
