Man Charged With Murder at Brooklyn Check Cashing Store

A man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a man at a check cashing store in Brooklyn, police said. 

Shaheem Bernard, 20, of Brooklyn was found unresponsive Friday afternoon in the store in Bed-Sty with a gunshot wound to the leg, the NYPD said. He was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital. 

Efrain J. Rivera, 20, also of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with murder and a weapons charge, police said. 

Police said a 9 mm gun was recovered. 

The investigation was ongoing.
