First Lady to Stump for Connecticut Senate Hopeful

First Lady Michelle Obama will hit the campaign trail in Connecticut later this month to stump for senate hopeful Richard Blumenthal.

The First Lady will reportedly appear aside Blumenthal at an event on October 18th. The President himself and former President Bill Clinton have already paid visits to the state on Blumenthal's behalf.

Ted Kennedy Jr., the son of the late Massachusetts senator, was to appear at a rally on Wednesday with Blumenthal in New Haven.

A recent Quinnipiac Poll shows Blumenthall with a slight lead in the race over Republican Linda McMahon. The two are locked in a competitive race to fill the seat of retiring Senator Chris Dodd.
