Firefighters Hurt When Truck Jumps Curb in Brooklyn

Three firefighters were hurt when their fire truck collided with a car on the way to a call Monday in Brooklyn, causing it to hit a parked car and jump the curb.

The firefighters had minor injuries, officials said.

FDNY said they were heading to a call about five blocks away -- which turned out to be a false alarm -- when the truck hit the other car at an intersection.

A civilian was also hurt in the crash at Marcy Avenue and Hewes Street in Williamsburg.

Neighbor say drivers frequently run the light at that intersection.

"It's very ugly," said Gilberto Parra. "There's a lot of people getting hurt and they don't stop."
