- Joseph Denfield, 26, of Manhattan, faces murder and other charges
A 26-year-old Manhattan man has been arrested in the cold case slaying of a Bronx man whose dismembered body was found burning in a shopping cart on the street seven years ago.
Joseph Denfield faces charges of murder and manslaughter in the killing of 25-year-old Donnell Harris, police said Wednesday.
Police say they found the Harris' remains after being called to a small rubbish fire in a shopping cart on a street in the Bronx on Sept. 1, 2010. After the flames were doused, officers found body parts inside a bag.
A medical examiner later determined them to be the remains of Harris.
It wasn't clear what led authorities to Denfield as a suspect. It also wasn't known if Denfield had retained an attorney.
