More Than 20 Christmas Trees Swiped From Brooklyn Garden Center: Report

Police are looking for the Grinch-like thief who stole more than 20 Christmas trees from a Brooklyn garden center earlier this month, DNAinfo reports.

A thief clipped the lock at the Seasons nursery in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Dec. 10 and stole the trees along with some holiday wreaths and decorations, the news website reports.

Owner Deborah Young says that it's the second straight holiday season that the nursery has been hit. Last winter, someone stole log reindeers and evergreen wreaths from the business, she said.

"Thieves are thieves, and thieves are everywhere. It’s Christmas, it happens,” Young told DNAinfo.com.

Police haven't arrested a suspect in this year's theft, and it's not clear if a culprit was ever apprehended in last year's holiday heist.

But the theft might have a small silver lining for Young. DNAinfo reports that Seasons has seen an uptick in business after word got around the neighborhood about the thefts.

“The support I received made me cry harder than when I walked in here and saw that big hole where the trees were. It was so heartwarming," she told the site.
