Sleeping Brooklyn Woman Assaulted By Bedroom Intruder

Police are investigating a break-in and sexual assault at a Brooklyn apartment building last week.

A man entered the woman's apartment at about 2:05 a.m. Aug. 18 by climbing up the fire escape and through her open window, police said.

The man put his hands on the woman's buttocks, waking her. She screamed, prompting the suspect to run away; he fled through the kitchen window and down the fire escape, police said.

It happened in NYPD's 67th precinct.

The suspect is about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, about 160 to 170 pounds, with dark-colored hair and medium complexion. A police sketch is attached.
