Police: Arrow Shooter Likely Ignorant of Accident

Woman recovering after being hit in Bronx Sunday

The person who fired the arrow that hit a woman in the stomach on a street in the Bronx is probably unaware of the accident, police said Monday.

Denise Delgado-Brown, of Yonkers, is in the intensive care unit at St. Barnabas Hospital after undergoing surgery.

She was dropping off some friends in the Riverdale section of the Bronx when the arrow came out of nowhere and hit her in the stomacah Sunday afternoon.

Police said the arrow was a fully carbon Blackhawk 4000 with a rounded tip that's normally used for target practice.

They also said it appears likely that the arrow came from a nearby park or someone's backyard.

The shooter could face reckless endangerment charges if it's determined that the arrow was shot from an area where target practice is not permitted. No arrests have been made.
