Firefighters Battle Bronx Warehouse Fire

Crews were battling the fire for several hours

Several firefighters sustained minor injuries while battling a three-alarm warehouse fire in the Bronx Tuesday evening.

The fire at the Reyes Produce warehouse at 1280 Randall Ave. started at about 7:30 p.m. About 150 firefighters responded and were still on the scene late Tuesday night, according to FDNY Deputy Chief James Nichols.

Nichols said crews had to battle to fire from the outside because the steel roof was especially vulnerable to fire.

The injured firefighters are expected to be OK.
