Boy Found Dead in Queens Home Overdosed on Medication, Examiner Ruled

The death of a 5-year-old boy after being found unconscious in his Queens home has been rules a homicide, officials said.

The medical examiner determined the cause to be an overdose of medication for seizures.

Michael Guzman was known to have chronic seizures and was found dead by his parents, who had gone out that Sunday night in January, leaving their six children at home.

Police said there have been a number of child abuse complaints at the 109th Avenue home where Guzman was found in a bedroom on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency responders tried to revive the boy after someone called 911, but he died at Jamaica Hospital. 

No arrests have been made.
