A Texas woman who was severely injured in a bicycle accident in Central Park last month has died of her injuries, police say.
NYPD officials say 54-year-old Gloria Garcia died Wednesday. Authorities say she was biking on the afternoon of July 17 when she lost control of her bicycle and hit her head.
Police have said the Corpus Christi woman may have been swerving to avoid a pedestrian. But Garcia's family says she fell because she was cut off by a pedicab as she rode with her 16-year-old daughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
