4 Dozen Rescued Rabbits Find New Homes

Four dozen rabbits found new homes with area residents during an adoption event conducted Saturday by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The rabbits were among the 180 rescued last January by the ASPCA from a Brooklyn home. Many suffered injuries and illnesses and were nursed back to health.

The event, held at Central Park and Union Square, found homes for 48 of the 51 bunnies offered for adoption.

All the rabbits have received veterinary care and have been neutered.

Dozens of rabbits are still available for adoption. Anyone interested in adopting should contact Ani-Care Animal Hospital in Dallastown, Pennsylvania, or St. Hubert's Animal Hospital in Madison, New Jersey.
