Top Chef Desserts' Judge Johnny Iuzzini Speaks; Eataly Hires More Food Staff

Food news while you caffeinate. Plus, what's on the menu for later.

Good morning. 'Top Chef: Just Desserts' premieres tomorrow night at 11 P.M., and we can' t wait for the drama. Jean Georges pastry-chef-turned-reality-show-judge Johnny Iuzzini is getting a little nervous about his big TV debut. He says he wasn't too harsh, though. "I don’t believe I made anyone cry. But just about everybody cried," he says

The baking department may be fully staffed at Eataly, but the Flatiron food court is still hiring. After creating nearly 300 new jobs in the city, Mario Batali and the Bastianich clan still need wine servers and assistant managers. Hopefully, with a full crew the disoriented service will settle in and stand up to the quality of the food.

Stay tuned: Later today, Joseph Leonard owner Gabe Stulman gives us a tour of his new West Village space Fedora, and David Chang calls out his favorite New York restaurants.
