RackedWire: Shop's 10th Birthday on the LES; Holiday Shopping in Chelsea; Scavenger Hunt At Bloomie's; Housing Works' Fashion For Action Shopping Event

The Shop girls in front of their old location this summer

LOWER EAST SIDE—Boutique Shop has been around for ten years, which is roughly forever in the context of the current L.E.S. Celebrate with them tonight at their store at 94 Orchard Street from 6pm to 9pm, where they'll have cupcakes, drinks, and goodie bags and everything will be an additional 20% off, or catch up with the afterparty at Lolita on Broome and Allen. CHELSEA—Didn't make it to Lucky Shops? Don't worry, you'll soon have another opportunity to shop tons of vendors in a giant room deep in the heart of Chelsea. On December 6, the Altman Building hosts New York Shop. Forty booths—including little stores like Albertine and bigger names like Tretorn—will offer their wares for up to 60% off. Tickets are onsale now at www.nymag.com/shop. It's $20 a person, $30 for two people, and since the event is curated by New York magazine, you get a free six-month subscription with your ticket purchase. [Racked Inbox]

SOHO AND MIDTOWN EAST—Once again, we can't decide whether a promotion is genius or just patently absurd. Tomorrow, to launch Benefit's new perfume b spot, five Bloomingdales stores are hosting a scavenger hunt. Find a magnifying glass, and you'll win two $200 gift certificates: one to Benefit and one to Bloomie's. The stores will also hide bottles of the perfume as a sort of second-place prize. Both 59th Street and Soho are participating. If you go, please take pictures! [Racked Inbox]

CHELSEA—Tomorrow at 7pm, Housing Works kicks off their fifth-annual Fashion for Action fundraiser. Chaired this year by Marc Jacobs, the event is a sample sale and silent auction to raise money for HIV/AIDS charities. The shopping begins at the Rubin Museum at 150 17th Street, where merchandise donated by a host of designers will be available at 50 to 70% off retail, and continues on for the following three days at the 17th Street Housing Works thrift shop.
