Who Will Be Food & Wine's Best New Chefs?

Food & Wine will announce its Best New Chefs on April 1. Cooking for the invite-only bash at City Winery will be Laurent Tourondel (winner in 1998), Michael Anthony (2002), Bradford Thompson (2004), Scott Conant (2004), David Chang (2006), Christopher Lee (2006), Michael Psilakis (2008; other past winners can be found here), aaaand of course a couple of Top Chefs. Sure, there are way too many of these “rising-star chef” awards, but let’s play along — who do you think deserves to take home honors this year? Our money is on Mr. Ryan Skeen and/or (assuming he can be considered “new”) Paul Liebrandt. Will Damon Wise, Peter Serpico, and Mark Ladner emerge from under the shadows of Colicchio, Chang, and Batali? Craig Hopson? John Fraser?
