Ubiquitous Black Is Not Yohji's Fault

Yohji Yamamoto offered a simple reason for the liberal use of black in his Y-3 collection, at least in the pieces for grownups. “As you know — in this room — so many people are wearing black,” he said, gesturing at the crowd around us. “This became like the uniform of modern people, so, uh, would you please not ask me about black?” he said with a grin. “It’s not my fault.”
