Overpriced E.A.T.s

Charging $15 for a cocktail seems inappropriate given the times says Fork in the Road, but how about $16 for an unremarkable (in taste and size) deli sandwich? That’s how much a turkey, lettuce, and Swiss on rye at Zabar’s E.A.T. To Go costs, but you wouldn’t know that til you went to the register — the prices aren’t posted. We complained to a manager, who explained that these were Madison Avenue prices. But is that what she pays? “I work here, so I eat free.”
