It was so very heartwarming to see the dog that used to guard Spots Café on St. Marks Place reappear on Mulberry Street, but now that Il Piccolo Bufalo has taken down its winter vestibule, Spots has disappeared with it. No! NOOOOO!! Actually, there’s no cause for concern — Spots hasn’t gone to doggie heaven. He’s just gone into the restaurant’s basement, where he’ll stay (with occasional walks, of course) until winter.
