Limelight Space Reopening As Lounge — the Store, That Is

The former Limelight, Avalon, closed about a year ago and never reopened as an events space as planned. Instead, rumors that the hallowed clubbing grounds would suffer “death by retail” have proved true — this weekend, construction workers told us that Lounge, the shuttered tourist-bait clubwear boutique in Soho, is reopening at 660 Sixth Avenue today. Too perfect that a former bridge-and-tunnel lounge would house the bridge-and-tunnel clothier, Lounge: Overpriced drinks replaced by overpriced clothes! Maybe Armani Exchange can move into the Xchange, the party spot in the former Tunnel building?
