We respectfully disagree with the Feed that spherical ice cubes are anything new (B Flat has been using them, as our “Ice, Ice Baby” slideshow attests), but we’re intrigued that it was Johnny Iuzzini who found the Japanese press that makes them, and came up with the cocktail they’ll debut in at PDT — “The drink, made of rye, cognac, sweet vermouth and Benedictine, is a riff on a famous New Orleans nip called a Vieux Carre.” [Feed/TONY]
