Eater Scenes: The Spotted Pig, 8 PM

Welcome to our new photo series, where Eater photographer Daniel Krieger visits some of the city's storied restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. For our second installation, we visit The Spotted Pig right at dinner time.

Krieger, 10/16/08

The Spotted Pig doesn't need much of an introduction, so we'll keep this one brief. What we have above is a look at Ken Friedman's West Village hit, celeb haunt, and home to April Bloomfield's famous burger and gnudi (and the rest of her gastro-pub menu), at 8 p.m. on a Thursday night. Lunch is the time to come here if you don't want to wait the one - two hours customary at night, but 8 p.m. is when the restaurant really hits its stride (unless you're looking for the afterparty—that's up on the third floor post-2 a.m.). Take a moment to have a look around.
