Abe Vigoda At Le Poisson Rouge

Abe Vigoda headlines Le Poisson Rouge's "Radio Happy Hour" variety show tonight. This Abe Vigoda is not the 89-year-old actor and perennial "Dead or Alive?" challenge, but the "tropical punk" rockers who emerged from L.A.'s famed noise rock breeding ground The Smell. The band has recently laid on the synths and dance-friendly hooks as it's left that experimental nest. $15 tickets here. 7 p.m.

Shawn Pelofsky (aka Lady Ha Ha) brings her manic physical comedy and encyclopedic pop culture knowledge to Knitting Factory. (Check out The Feast's "Rate My Bit" with the comic here.) If the venue's description of Pelofsky as a cross between Dane Cook and Kathy Griffin doesn't have you storming the box office, remember she's joined by fellow stand-up vet Matt Bragg. $20 - $30 tickets here. 8 p.m.

Over 2,000 canines covering 170 breeds cram Madison Square Garden for the return of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. The competition hopes to have a breakout star like 2008's Uno on its hands, while some in the crowd simply want to live out their "Best In Show" fantasies. $71 tickets here. 8 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck each day by peeping Play's Dance Card.
