Kate Middleton's Necklace Design Re-Issued

A necklace Kate Middleton co-designed with Claudia Bradby for Junior Jigsaw has now been reissued. Because no money-making stone will be left unturned in the wake of the royal engagement, this latest "Middleton madness" tie-in comes in the form of a silver bean charm necklace priced at 42GBP, or about $65.

The design, though unremarkable, is sweet, and was created by Middleton while she worked at Jigsaw as a junior buyer between 2006 and 2007. According to the Evening Standard, it was intended to fill a void in the market for tasteful jewelry aimed at teens. The silver bean—which bears a striking resemblance to Elsa Perretti for Tiffany's Bean line—comes on a silver chain with two smaller stones.

Of course, the marketing hook is a given: the perfect holiday gift for a little girl who wants to be a princess, designed by the girl who will become a princess next year.
